YouTube will stop supporting the third-generation Apple Tv from March and can be replaced by AirPlay.
At the end of last year, Apple’s Apple Tv launched the tvOS 14 update and began to support YouTube’s 4K playback. This was definitely good news for many Apple TV users. However, old users of the third-generation Apple TV have recently received a notice from Apple that the YouTube application will stop supporting the third-generation Apple TV at the beginning of next month (March).
The foreign technology media The Verge reported that starting from early March, the YouTube application will no longer be available to users on the third-generation Apple TV users will no longer be able to watch YouTube directly on Apple TV. Users can still watch YouTube on Apple TV 4K, Apple TV HD, iPhone or iPad, or AirPlay YouTube content to Apple TV via iPhone or iPad.
This suspension is only applicable to the third-generation Apple TV. Apparently, because the third-generation Apple TV cannot use the tvOS app store and cannot perform application updates, YouTube decided not to support the third-generation. The fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV models are not affected.
